Who we are
We believe sustainability belongs in the engine room, not just the boardroom
The Global Sustainability Institute grew out of a frustration that many people working in sustainability will recognise. Too much talk, not enough action. Too many frameworks gathering dust on shelves. Too many organisations spending money on consultants who deliver impressive looking reports but leave before anyone works out how to actually implement the recommendations.
We wanted to build something different. An institute that gets its hands dirty. One that sits alongside organisations and helps them do the practical work of embedding sustainability into their operations, their supply chains, their governance and their culture. Not as a separate initiative that gets wheeled out for the annual report, but as a fundamental part of how the organisation runs.
Practical expertise across every sector
We are practitioners first. Our team has collectively spent decades working across environmental management, carbon accounting, ESG compliance, regulatory affairs, organisational development and sustainability strategy. We have worked in corporates, in government, in consultancies and in the third sector. We understand the pressures that real organisations face because we have lived them.
That experience shapes everything we do. Our training programmes are accredited by The Global Sustainability Institute and designed to be applied in the workplace, not just studied in a classroom. Our advisory work is collaborative, not prescriptive. And our knowledge hub is built around the tools and resources that practitioners actually need, not the ones that look good in a brochure.
